Who We Are

After more than thirty years of professional activity in San Miguel de Allende and as head of Clínica Dental San Miguel de Allende, I am very proud of the team we have formed, and thus be able to offer the best dental care in the city. Clínica Dental SMA was inaugurated in 2003.

Our Services

Oral and Maxillofacial surgery

It is very important to return the function and aesthetics of the affected or missing teeth. We have a wide variety of materials that can give a greater aesthetic result. We offer you: Composites, Inlays, Onlays, Fixed prosthodontics, Dentures, Removable prosthodontics and Implant rehabilitation.

Pediatric Dentistry

As parents we must see if our children are protected against cavities or if they already have them. We should also identify any habits or any conditions that can alter the growth and development of the bones of the face and teeth. When children present these problems they can face important issues in language development, nutrition, and facial aesthetics and therefore damage their self-esteem and psychosocial development.

A Pediatric Dentist should promote preventive dentistry and provide all the information related to a dental care needed for a child. Tooth development begins during the 5th week of intrauterine life, breast-feeding is very important for the child´s facial growth. We recommend a visit to the Pediatric Dentist during the first couple of months after the child´s birth. Baby teeth are very important for the child´s facial growth; they maintain the space for the permanent dentition. They play a very important role in aesthetics, mastication and language (communication).

Implants

Dental implant procedures have become a very safe alternative with excellent aesthetic and functional results. Dental implants substitute the root or roots of a missing tooth and allowing us to restore it with crowns, bridges or implant supported dentures.
Prevention and dental cleaning

Teeth cleaning and prevention of dental diseases. As complements to a dental cleaning there are several treatments such as flour varnishes and sealers of pits and fissures that help reduce susceptibility to dental caries. Minimally invasive dentistry and preventive dentistry are the future of dentistry.

Teeth whitening

Dental bleaching is a cosmetic dental treatment. Products like coffee, tobacco, tea, red wine, and foods with dyes can cause a change in the tone of our teeth. It is important to mention that teeth will loose their white hue with age. Teeth whitening help us decrease or disappear unwanted stains.

Endodontics

Root canal treatments are required when we have an infection in the pulp (dental nerve); this treatment helps us eradicate the infections so that the tooth can be restored with a crown.

When would you need a root canal?

  • When your dentist needs to restore your tooth with a crown and the pulp (dental nerve) is very close to the tissue that it is being prepared.
  • When caries has reached the tooth´s pulp.
  • When a tooth fractures due to trauma and the pulp is compromised.

Maxillofacial surgery

We have trained specialists for this type of surgeries and treatments. One of the more frequent surgeries are third molar extractions.

Periodontics

Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that damage the tissues that support the teeth are very important. Poor management of periodontal disease can result in the loss of several teeth making the treatment and rehabilitation more difficult, as well as raising the cost of the treatment. Periodontal disease is presented as gingivitis (bleeding gums without bone destruction) or periodontitis, where there is localized or generalized loss of the supporting bone.

Orthodontics-Maxillary Orthopedics

Orthodontics studies, prevents and diagnoses the anomalies of form, function and the relationship of the dento maxillary structures through preventive and corrective treatments to keep them in harmony and function through the use of forces controlled by fixed or removable appliances.

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD) affects the mobility and function of the mandible as well as the dental occlusion.

An orthodontic examination can identify these problems and allow us to act immediately and help you recuperate the aesthetics and function you have lost. Orthodontics treats kids, adolescents and adults.
